HomeAbout Us ♦ Don Galog

I started my apprenticeship in 1992 with N R McArthur Jewellers, Balclutha. I had always wanted to work with my hands in skill-based employment so when the opportunity arose to become a manufacturing jeweller I took it.

In 1993 I entered Johnson Matthey Trades Course competition for manufacturing with a sterling silver repouse' dragon brooch. I won the second year Apprentice Award and was the winner of the Annual Award as top apprentice in New Zealand. It was a great achievement for me and something I am still proud of today.

In 1996 I moved to Dunedin and worked in Mosgiel for 6 years then in the city for J C Gore Ltd before returning to Mosgiel where John and I worked together in the workshop.

We are delighted to use our combined experience to offer the public a unique service in our Dunedin Goldsmiths store.
